Transgender Care
Individuals with gender dysphoria often describe having been born not in the right body. Plastic surgery is essential to align their bodies with whom they know themselves to be. The overarching treatment goal is “lasting personal comfort with the gendered self, to maximize overall health, psychological well-being, and self-fulfillment.”
Male-To-Female
Vaginoplasty
Vaginoplasty is a male-to-female gender reassignment surgery procedure that transforms male genitals into a functional, aesthetically pleasing vagina and vulva.
Breast Augmentation
Breast augmentation is a procedure that adds volume to your breasts by using lipofilling or implants. This procedure helps create an enhanced cleavage and volume.
Facial Feminization (FFS)
Facial Feminization (FFS) includes a wide range of reconstructive and aesthetic surgical procedures that reshape facial features to make them appear feminine.
Female-To-Male
Penis reconstruction
Metaidoioplasty which will be performed after the clitoris has been elarged via testostorone therapy.
The other procedure is a more-extensive called phalloplasty, which creates a larger penis.
Vaginal Sheath Removal
During vaginal sheath removal, Dr Kanhai removes the entire vagina. This is called a total vaginectomy. Some transgender men get a vaginectomy as part of gender affirmation surgery, this can help reduce gender dysphoria. This is also called female-to-male (FTM) “bottom surgery”.
Hysterectomy + Ovariectomy
Hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus. The operation will be performed by laparoscopic and in rare cases via the vagina.
Non-Binair
Subcutaneous Mastectomy
Top surgery for transgender men is a procedure to remove breast tissue. It is also called masculinizing chest surgery.
